OLDHAM-CUMMINGS POST #6441
VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS

Oldham-Cummings Post #6441 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) was established in 1946 by Wimberley area veterans upon their return from service in World War II. We are part of a federal chartered organization whose purposes are fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable, and educational. Our current membership of over 170 men and women include representatives of all services who are veterans of every conflict since WWII including Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq).

MEMBERSHIP: Membership is open to men and women who have honorably served their country in overseas engagements for which a campaign badge or medal has been authorized by the U. S. Government. See our Membership Page for more information.

LOCATION: The home of VFW Post #6441 is Veteran’s Park, located on Jacobs Well Road (CR182) approximately one half mile southeast of Ranch Road 12. Look for the large sign at the intersection of Jacobs Well Road and Ranch Road 12. Veteran’s Park includes the VFW Hall and the Chester Franklin Rodeo Arena.

MEETINGS: The Post and the Auxiliary meet on the first Thursday of each month beginning with an informal dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Prospective members are welcome.

POST ACTIVITIES: VFW Post #6441 supports a variety of community organizations including the 4-H, FFA, the Wimberley Youth Sports Organization, My Neighbor’s Keeper, the Barnabas Connection, and, as well as the Wimberley EMS and Wimberley Volunteer Fire Department. The Post also sponsors Boy Scout Troop 127 and provides space for their Scout Hut on Veteran’s Park. Through the Post’s Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen programs, the Post annually awards scholarships to local students.
